In Solidarity with the People of Japan concert 03/05/11

T with the Maggies will be among the impressive list of traditional acts to perform at the ‘In Solidarity with the People of Japan’ concert at Dublin’s Button Factory on May 10th.

Other acts who have agreed to perform are Altan, Dervish, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Dónal Lunny, Paddy Glackin, Kila, Harry Bradley and surprise guests are expected.

The concert will be streamed live online on www.livetrad.com so that people in Japan can see that Ireland is in solidarity with them.

Speaking about the event Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh stated: “All of us in the trad world wanted to do something after the years of support the Japanese have given to both Altan and the other bands. This is our small way of showing that they are in our thoughts.”

The ‘In Solidarity with the People of Japan’ concert will take place at 8pm on Tuesday May 10th in The Button Factory, Temple Bar. Tickets are available in advance from www.tickets.ie and Claddagh Records,

All proceeds will go to Aid Japan and The Japanese Red Cross.
